Making progress

Noah continues to amaze us with how well he is progressing given how little he was doing when we first got him a month ago. Just this afternoon in the pool he was blowing bubbles in the water on his own accord! A few days ago Mark showed Noah how to put his face in the water and blow but we had yet to see him do it. And then, lo and behold, today he was blowing bubbles! He seems to observe and then do or say whatever it is you are teaching. For instance, he forms his mouth into the correct shape to say a word or he mimics actions. He does a really cute wink too!

But as it goes in life, we quickly moved from the "thrill of victory" to the "agony of defeat." Just moments after Noah's success in bubble blowing, my daughter attacked my oldest son who proceeded to bat her down (keep in mind this is all in the water) while Noah mauled my face so I couldn't see anything that was happening. My frustration over the pain in my face and my oldest two struggling in the water was enough to send us all home. I'm sure we were a sight in the water - my face being pulled down to my knees amidst a flurry of water and arms. I don't think the neighbors will soon forget us!
