This week has been so incredibly hard in so many ways. When I captured these cute shots of Noah I had to post them not only to share with all of you but to remind myself that Noah is created by God and loved by God more than I ever could. Note: He actually initiated the "leg hug" and then tolerated a hug from Mark in conjunction with some tickling.
In the summer of 2008 we adopted into our family two year old Sheng Heng from South China. Several of you have asked, “Aren’t you going to create a blog so we can ‘travel’ with you?” Well, here it is! The Lord has blessed us as we begin this journey. We hope that you will find it a blessing too.

Last Days of Summer
We took advantage of our last Friday before school to explore the zoo. The weather was quite pleasant (especially for August in Texas!) and the animals were very entertaining.
There's nothing better than munching on popcorn in the comfort of your own mobile reclining unit!
Playful tigers
One of the coolest things to do was feeding the birds seeds on a stick. The kids were able to get close enough to really study and observe these little birds.
Enjoying some ice cream on a hot Texas day
(The big kids were thrilled with their double scoops!)
Observing the chimps during their afternoon snooze
Noah really wanted to get a hold of this mommy chimp and her baby. Oh well - a kiss through the window would have to do!

Seasons

"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity
under heaven...He has made everything beautiful in its time."
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11
During my time of prayer and Bible study this morning, God put this verse on my heart. There is indeed a time and season for everything. It may not be our plan but, in His wisdom, it is God's plan. God is leading us to a change in seasons. We trust that He will make "everything beautiful in its time."
