After breakfast he gets on his swimsuit and squeaky shoes for a mid-morning swim. He doesn't waste any time in the baby pool. He wants to get out where the big kids are! Motoring around on his back or stomach (with a little help from Mommy) his is favorite thing to do. He wishes he could swim on his own. Maybe next summer!
Swimming makes him hungry so he has a yogurt drink and some popcorn pool side. It's so nice sitting in the hot sun on Mom's lap. He gets cold quickly in the pool as he doesn't have a lot of body fat to keep him warm.
A little bit more play time and then it's home for lunch. Sliced grapes and Chinese noodles taste good after being outside. Sometimes he dumps whatever is left in his bowl on his head. Mashed noodles and grape juice make for a truly sticky mess. Now it's time for a nap. He sleeps for almost three hours!
In his crib, Noah wakes up but he doesn't call out. In the past, he's learned that calling for someone to come doesn't work. So big brother sneaks in next to his crib and models the desired behavior. "Mama!" calls big brother. "Mama!" mimics Noah. And Mama enters the room!
As dinner is being prepared, Noah plays in the game room with his siblings. Big sister has decided that Noah is definitely more doll than brother. She layers him with her most precious jewels and straps him in her baby doll stroller. It's during the strapping in that Mom is summoned by Noah's angry cries. And who can blame him?
Dinner comes and goes. The only casualties are Noah's mostly empty bowl carelessly tossed to the ground and a stray fork.
After dinner Noah goes for a walk in the Ergo carrier. He starts saying "nigh-nigh" and signing that he is sleepy about a third of the way through our short walk. We say hello to the ducks at the pond and then head home. Noah says "bye-bye" to the ducks for as long as he can see them.
A bottle in his darkened room and a short bath followed by massage with baby lotion (his favorite part!) prepare him for bed. We read a book and a Bible story. He says "nigh-nigh" several times and it's clear he is ready for bed. Sweet dreams, Noah. Good night!
