The dietician still placed Noah at a moderate risk as he is far below the U.S. growth charts. Even when looking at the Chinese growth charts his weight is below the third percentile. In other words, he is not on the chart yet. Note I write "yet" for we have full confidence that he will continue to gain weight. If he follows the pattern he has set thus far he will reach twenty pounds by the end of the summer. Praise God!
In the summer of 2008 we adopted into our family two year old Sheng Heng from South China. Several of you have asked, “Aren’t you going to create a blog so we can ‘travel’ with you?” Well, here it is! The Lord has blessed us as we begin this journey. We hope that you will find it a blessing too.

Growing
We scheduled a registered dietician to come to our home for a visit this past week. She gave us some good ideas for increasing the nutrient density in the foods he is eating. She also brought her scale and weighed and measured Noah. Within a twenty day day period Noah has gained one and a half pounds! That is a ten percent gain! Most boys his age gain about five grams per day. Noah is averaging about thirty-five grams per day. Needless to say, we are very pleased!
