Doctors' Visits

This is a week of doctors' visits and tests. Monday we saw the gastroenterologist. Today Noah has a fluroscopy ( a test where barium is swallowed and followed through out the upper GI and bowels) to determine where everything is placed in his abdominal cavity and how things are functioning. With the intestinal surgery he had at 3 months of age things typically get moved around. We need to know, for example, where the appendix is truly located should he ever have appendicitis. Tomorrow Noah visits the hematologist and cardiologist. The hematologist will be collecting blood so that may be a traumatic morning! The cardiologist should be a simple check to make sure the surgery to repair the hole in his heart was successful.

On a another note, Noah followed a complex direction yesterday in English! I asked him to pick up his socks and take them into my room. Much to my surprise, he leaned over, gathered the socks and proceeded to my room where he not only left them but put them on top of his little pile of clean clothes on my bed. I guess he understands more English than we thought!
