Today was our last full day in China. Tomorrow we leave the hotel at 5:50 am. Our bags must be outside our door by 5 am for the bellman to get them. And then we're off to the airport. We will fly from Guanzhou to Hong Kong to LA and then home! Mark is still routed from LA through San Fran so continue to pray that a seat opens up for him to fly from LA with Noah and me. Thank you!

This morning we had a nice breakfast and then ventured out to finish our shopping on Shamain Island. We got stuck in a late morning thunderstorm but a shop owner loaned us an umbrella so we could get back to the hotel without getting too wet!

This afternoon we took a 45 minute bus ride to the U.S. Consulate to take an oathe that the paperwork we submitted for Noah's visa was true. We then received his visa to enter the U.S. and his Chinese passport. When we land in LA he will officially become a U.S citizen!

The three of us had dinner at the hotel tonight. We split a plate of fried rice noodles with beef. Noah did very well and even used his spoon! His bottle of milk only went flying off the table three times! The dining room at the White Swan has large picture glass windows along the entire back wall. While we ate we could see various types of boats moving on the Pearl River. Across the river the buildings were lit-up - one with a flashing neon light show. We splurged on dessert and ordered ... you guessed it! Chocolate Puke! We couldn't pass up the opportunity to try it. The waitress brought out a small round mold of rich dark chocolate mousse covered in a thin layer of chocolate and topped with a dab of whipped cream and a few peices of chocolate. It was really delicious and a lovely end to our last meal in China.

We have finished our packing and are headed to bed for a few short hours of sleep. We are so looking forward to being back home. And opening our mouths in the shower! And not having to put a wash cloth over the faucet to remind us not to use the tap water! (I only used it once on my toothbrush and caught myself just in time! That toothbrush is somewhere in a Chinese trash heap.)
