A First!

For the first time in the nine months since we have been home with Noah we had a successful family meal. A big hurray! Noah sat at the table (he requested NOT to sit in his high chair), ate off a plate, and threw no food or drink. I can not tell you what a major accomplishment this is for Noah and what a huge sigh of relief we are breathing. 

We have had nine months of food (and its accompanying utensils) being thrown, dropped, or spit. As a result, mealtimes have been our least favorite times of day. Family mealtimes in our home have always been a sit-down affair. I cook, we use real plates and silverware (usually), and we eat together. It has always been a time for us to re-connect with each other. Noah's meal time behavior has been a tremendous stressor for us all. Training Noah in this area was emotionally exhausting, to say the least. I truly hope that we have turned a corner. Praise God!
